I like to think I joined during the good ol' days... and then once I became selfaware the golden age was gone :/
And it's definatley true that this forum is way more about silly games than music if you ask me :I Which is to bad really... If there was as much musical discussion as there is games... This place would be great!

@Freewave, I doubt S5 will make a lasting impact on Brony music. I'm pretty sure you wrote the same thing about S4 actually... And idk... I don't remember it making that much of a difference :/

By now MyLittleRemix is what it is mainly because of the people who hang around because they like to hang around with the other regulars. By now we're more a close group of friends who all know each other, who dance where other people once might have committed themselves to creating something substantial a bit more. It's way, way easier to make social contact than it is to share music/talk about music/ask for help about music, which on it's own is easier, as I've seen by now, than making talk about pony-related things, or make any creative product inspired by poniponi. Sure, there's Balloon Party (which has the deadline in 14 hours by the way!), and Seeds of Kindness in the foreseeable future, but nothing really to base pony-related conversation or creation on. Maybe something unexpected will happen one day, like someone semi-horsfamuze releasing a poniponi album out of nowhere, or maybe there'll be a rise when S5 comes around the corner. Maybe not.

In the meantime I do what I wanna do, by contributing to the friendly atmosphere of the board to at least make sure that stagnation of purpose doesn't lead to unnecessity of life. I love this forum and what it brought me, and want it to live on.
Even though my attempt at taking over Balloon Party didn't exactly have the effect I had in mind when I initially took it upon me, it's still something I do to put some activity in the pony music community. Because say what you want, it motivated (and maybe inspired, I have no idea, it just could be) people to make music inspired by ponies. And at that, it inspired people to surprise themselves with something new and creative (and boy, I can tell you it did).

Oh also, on an unrelated note, I haven't said this enough times out in the open: everyone should definitely read Fallout: Equestria - Project Horizons at some point (after the original of course). Personally, the best story I've ever read and ever expect to read. I'm thinking of either scrapping my old idea for a FO:E tribute album or releasing that which I currently got, and making a FO:E-PH tribute album because PH is worth it so much :O

And don't forget us lurkers. Even though I post ever so rarely, I still feel like I'm a part of the community too. I (usually) enjoy seeing what people are talking about in the open discussion post, and the games posts are good for the occasional chuckle. I'm just not very good at the participatory side of online hanging out and am more of a tech help or words of wisdom kind of guy. Shooting the breeze has never been my thing.

I do kind of wish people talked about pony a little more often, though. A part of me always gets a little excited when I see a new post in the EqG 2 thread.

But like for real tho, I have no idea why I go to this forum.
The active members are so few (Like what, 10 tops?) that moderation shouldnt truly be neccecary.
The main activity is forum games and offtopic.
I dont really feel that I know any of you either, I just make stupid little jokes here and there for no real reason.
I hardly see a music related thread, and when they do appear, they get low traffic.
And even then its usually just "Heres some stuff I made" or "Make some stuff for my thing"
I dont care for pony anymore either, but truly, with notable exceptions, nobody else seems to care about pony anyways. Like there are no threads about it and hardly any music related to it.

Nah i agree with you completely. I think there's still some support for pony music mind you (although its constantly dwindling into a smaller overall audience) but this is no longer the hub of the community like it used to be. Anything that was an institution; balloon party, remix wars, toast beard, only has a fraction of the support these days, even among musicians. Hopefully S5 will renew interest but in many ways all the long breaks between seasons, departed musicians, and time have taken their toll.

I agree, Music isn't exactly the spotlight of the community anymore. I think as it evolves people are expecting something more than just music, which I think was probably the highlight of early 2012-early 2013, then it sorta just started to dwindle slowly after than. I mean, alot of people still make mlp music, just as I see in the eqd MoTD posts, but people aren't as attracted to that anymore, not unless it's god tier quality by someone well known, no one will really make a big deal about it. Which sucks b/c new musicians don't really get the support the ones back in 2012 did. I actually try to make mlp music, but I feel I'm wasting my time b/c I feel like I accomplish nothing. But it's whatever. Maybe s5 Will renew some, bring in some new songs to remix and such, plus with the EQG holiday special and that mlp movie sometime in the future, maybe then, but for now I think it will probably remain this way.
