Nah, I'm kidding. I'm pretty proud of my track, and thankful that it got on. In fact, if you saw Lavender Harmony and Silva Hounds critiques on my song...get this...they didn't call my song complete trash!

So an update on my whole moving out situation, I think I've found a place. I just got back from meeting one of the people who live there and we talked over some things about it and it's looking pretty good. it's about 15 minutes walking distance from where I'm moving from and it's an actual house with space and a yard. I've been living in a tiny-ass flat for a year now and the idea of a place where I'm not within 3 meters of someone all the freakin time is pretty appealing.

Srs talk, yours was one of the better ones, I really enjoyed it. But the album overall was a major letdown. A lot of generic wubstep and shoddy mixing, with very little of any interest in the first two thirds of the album. Given that the theme hinted at trying new/experimental/fresh things, I was excited, but it seems it went in the exact opposite direction. Oh well. There were quite a few saving graces in the second half, but it was a challenge just to get through the first half.

This isn't me being mad because I didn't get on (in fact, not mad at al), but it was a complete "No" for me anyways. Some songs were decent, but most of them wasn't what I expeted. I was hoping more of on the line of IDM instead of some fantasy movie like LotR or The Hobbit. In other words, to me it sounded like a soundtrack instead of a compilation album. I really got my hopes up and it totally shut them down.

So. I just got my results for this semester of uni, and I got a high distinction in Creative and Analytical Studies of Music. Quite stoked haha


Also just remembered we have a good news thread. Probs shoulda posted there but oh well. Anyway, general updates - Finished uni for the year, year 1 of 3 down. Have about 3 tracks that are really close to being released. Band's still going strong and getting heaps of gigs and all. Played the Mexican themed festival and it was probably the best gig we've had so far. I've been promoted to Lead guitarist (not to say that bass is a rank below or anything), we now have a new bass player, and we're writing some really cool new tracks.

And i'm travelling somewhere between 4 - 5 hours tomorrow to play a show in Canberra another show with an awesome band called Take us to Vegas, a bunch of really cool dudes who we played with yesterday night as well. This'll be our first (technically) Interstate gig, and I reckon it's gonna be a tonne of fun. THings are pretty good :3

Well that's what we wanted, but we got given what we got given and we had to deal with it. It's not like we could just go "NAH SORRY GUYS WE DIDN'T GET ENOUGH EXPERIMENTAL MUSIC SO THE ALBUM'S CANCELLED!", so, we just worked with what we got given. However, it's given us a lot to think about in any future projects.

Well the place I go to ' in replacent for school', Fenix Talentguidance (new name of the CCL), got offered a spot in a news show on Dutch television. My mentor said to me one day that she thought that I would be a perfect example to show people what the place is for, so together with two others we got followed around in the building and at home. We also had individual interviews (and the director too lol the interviewer and cameraman were hilarious because suddenly I had to be separated from the group together with another girl who was 'representing' Fenix (at the train station) and they asked us to "talk a little." It's funny because we never talk (except in groups) even though we've known each other for 5-6 years xD

But I also got to play two tracks of mine for the camera :D
