Awesome concert (IMO) last night. Put me in a pretty good mood.

Ok, so I'm not 100% sure why the hell this is good news, but I just watched the movie Black Swan.

I just have to say...

I was blown away. Oh my god, it was so incredible. Its start was good, and then it went more and more into a pain and torture and insanity and then, oh my god I cannot describe how good it was right now. My last three favorite movies were Inception, Shutter Island and Django Unchained, but holy hell my list now ranks 1) Black Swan 2) Inception 3) Shutter Island. I just simply cannot get over how simply amazing and incredible the movie was and is.

@Itroitnyah If you like movies that make you think, Cloud Atlas is absolutely amazing. A lot of people found it boring, but the score is excellent, as well as the overall message. Its not a movie you can multitask while you watch, but if you think about everything that's happening its great.

So I graduated school yesterday, and today I got a job interview and my HSC music performances were nominated for Encore. So it's triple good news from me. :3

Almost didn't get the interview on account of my email account stuffing up and not getting the email saying I had the interview until the day after I was supposed to have it. I wouldnt have been able to make the interview on that day anyway because I had my Graduation ceremony on the same day. Quick phone call and an apology later another interview was arranged for next week, and they're saying there's a pretty high chance for me to get this job :3

And Encore! Yes! Encore is a pretty big thing! During the HSC (final school tests in Oz) marking, the markers have an option to nominate students to perform at an event which showcases exceptional performances of year 12 students in Music and to show year 10/11 students the kind of outcome that is expected for HSC music performances, as well as to just show some good musicians. They do this for drama as well. A friend of mine got nominated for his drama monologue, and also a couple other music students for their performances, which is pretty awesome...

...but the awesome part is that I was one of the people nominated and that is so awesome and I am so stoked aaaaaa-

It's a pretty big thing to even be nominated for this as not many people from my school are nominated, and i'm pretty sure nobody from my school has been selected to perform before.

But the most awesome thing is that Encore is held in the Sydney Opera house. It would be so amazing to get selected to perform and be able to say to people that I've played at the Opera house.

Today was a good day :3

I had a sort of epiphany recently.

Education has always been a passion of mine but I was never sure what the best way for me would be. At least one of my friends has decided that he will become a professor and there was some expectation that I would do the same (like some of my family does/has done). I know how much of a process it takes to become one, though, and I just don't want the job badly enough to go through all of that.

Lately I realized that there is a middle ground - tutoring! Becoming a tutor would be less demanding than a professorship and I wouldn't necessarily be limited to what my major is. I could even teach cello. How awesome would it be to introduce people of all ages to the beauty of this instrument?

I'm not quite ready to rush off and become a tutor immediately, but it's definitely reassuring to know that the option is there.

Music tutoring is actually a really good field to go into I've found. There are a ton of people that want to learn an instrument, but either don't live near a school, or can't afford going there. By having tutors that would come to their house (or them go to theirs) they solve that problem. Its definitely a good option.

I take cello lessons once a week, and honestly there's no other part of my week that I look forward too more. Once I get better, and get some real performance experience I plan to start tutoring (Maybe 3 or 4 years once I'm out of college). I taught a friend guitar a few years back, and the joy of teaching is amazing.

I tried to teach an idiot sime basic drumming once, but he didn't want to learn :( The bastard don't know how lucky he is!!! At least I he can sorta keep a beat going so I have something to play bass to. Thats great fun compared to just playing alone.

In other news I bought 3 plushies yesterday. Totaly worth.

I just wrote 32 bars over a song (which equates to two verses) in an hour. This is impressive enough for my lazy butt already, but here's the clincher: I'm actually satisfied with how it turned out.

Feelin' pretty good right now about that, and I'm inspired to write even more right now. Writer's high, baby!

Btw, Pedals is a really good VST. A bit CPU intensive and ocasionally glitchy, but good.

Ok, so today I found out that I go to school with a famous opera/classical singer.

She won 1st place in an International Music Festival/Competition (for her age group) that was held in Romania. That is certainly a very impressive feat.

Not only that, but she does live performances. She mostly performs at Green Bay (where she is), but she's also performed at large events in Milwaukee, she's performed at Chigaco before, she's sung a duet live with Josh Groban

On reverbnation(yes it's a link to her RN profile), she's ranked #36 overall global for the classical charts.

She also sings in many languages, sometimes multiple at the same time.

You can also hire her to sing for a measly $3000 (I don't have a source, but that's what one of my classmates says he found)

I have to say, this is very impressive, and I'm now infinitely times jealous of her.

Listen to her voice. Oh my god, it sounds beautiful.
