Sports, politics, movies, videogames, questionable hobbies, photos from your family vacation, etc. Talk about stuff that isn't ponies or music. But do try to stay on topic and respectful of alternate opinions.

So here's how my studio looks like as of now. Be honest guys. This doesn't need to be cleaned up, does it? Its alright as is, right?
Also I just took the picture with my cam (4500k+) and didn't edit it so I'm doing a direct link. BBCode can't resize sadly, well at least wont work here, so if you're wondering what my studio looks like, yeah lol.

Yeah I'll clean up later cause I want to do a mix soon...

Underwhelming "studio" pics ahoy!

Image
Custom Explorer, cheapo Douglas 5 string and a pretty flame maple topped 7 string Agile, all of which I love.

Image
Better, though still crap, pic of the green. The flash made me aware that it needs a good cleaning. I blocked the trem and replaced the stock pups with A duncan distortion in the bridge and a random DiMarzio (I can't remember what kind) in the neck.

Image
Cheap Warlock that I was expecting to be not so good, but sounds surprisingly great. Stock everything, and I don't intend to change anything.

Image
Schecter Omen 8, sounds like mud. Desperately needs new pickups before I can do anything useful with it. I'm still sloppy with the extra string. I only ever really use it for practicing 8 string stuff.

Image
Because ponies. Not sure if I uploaded this into a thread I made before, but figured why not post it here. Over exposure like mad. The body color is the same pastel blue of Rainbow Dash. It sounded nice before I gutted it. Looking into which pickups to get. Also, the twilight guitar is peaking into the picture here.

Image
Blackstar HT5R and generic $50 speakers. I just recently bought a new computer and haven't gotten to moving all the fun audio stuff over, so the speakers are temporary.

Image
My computer. I'd label of specs, but I've grown lazy over making this post. That white thing on the printer, behind the computer tower is a body bag. Not sure what that's doing there. My girlfriend's computer is on the desk you can see the legs of. The box under that desk, which the blue bottle cap overlaps is a subwoofer meant for a car. If I want to piss the neighbors off, I crank that bitch.

Image
Various software I frequently use. Not shown is Kontakt and an ass load of libraries that go with it. (drums of war 2, LASS, Cinebrass, Random choir libs, mostly orchestral stuff) Also, a few EastWest libraries and a bucket full of Toontrack products. (EZX's, Superior Drummer, EZmix, EZkeys.) Not to mention I do use other synths. Biohazard and Sytrus mainly.

Anyway, I work in a fairly high traffic room, so it's frustrating to say the least. I'm in desperate need of an isolated room, namely so I can work in peace and quiet. Not an impressive setup, but not the worst either. Some of the things posted in this thread make me ten kinds of jealous.

A clean studio is a happy studio. At its worst my studio has a few papers, an empty can and some wires lying around.

Aaah wires... When I'm at my cousins place and I'm changing the patch around there's heaps of cables just sitting there...

When it comes to wire management, i'm absolutely terrible. If you saw the inside of my desktop, that'll give you an understanding of it.

Honestly, I have no idea how else I can clean this up lol. The papers and sponge I can throw in a desk but as for wires...oh man...I don't know.

I've made a habit of taking apart my whole studio (hardware side) to clean/dust and re-organize wires once every 2-3 months. I don't use cable ties as they are all hidden behind my gear so the site of wires everywhere doesn't get to me but I do place them carefully so they are somewhat organized.

Like ACSII said remove everything (seriously everything) and start over placing gear where its most comfortable and then wiring it all up in a organized matter (power cables - audio cables -midi cables ect..).

I use cable ties to group the wires (this for this synth, and stuff, Computer peripherals, power cables) Then again i'm used to doing production stuff so half the time we need to get the cables organised so we know where each one goes, seeming we have so many :P
