Actually it looks like not everyone did make it out. From what I've seen there have been 2 casualties, one of which was a hostage, and more in hospital. :(

MORNING UPDATE: Two hostages are dead :( gun man also dead. Apparently a police sniper saw him shoot a hostage and less than 10 seconds later they stormed the place.

it's crazy and also pretty devastating how quickly everyone from around the world can find out about this, my gosh. this is surreal i log on and this happens thoughts go out to all those affected today. as an aside the hostage who was shot, was that the first or second victim? i cant seem to find much about this tragedy live updating aside from the mess that is twitter hashtag feeds

In reply to the news from Australia, I'm relieved that the situation is being handled. And it's unfortunate that there had to be casualties or that this situation happened at all.
I hope that all you people living in Australia have an eased rest of your week and month and year as you all cope with what just happened.

Two years ago, I learned that a student at the high school a mile away from mine produced music.
earlier this year, I saw him DJ live at a local event center.
A few days ago I discovered he has two tracks on the EDM.net soundcloud, one for electro and one for DnB.
He works at the local Office Depot though Ive never spoken to him.
We have mutual friends irl.
I'm trying to contact him, but he no respond.

I let him know about all the connections we have and mutual frinds, but he no reply to anything. :/
I'd love to see his "studio" and see how he does things in it.

Also, that moment when your sick of all the booring xmas music (ya know those depressing ones like Hallelujah :I yeh, those...) when suddenly, two street musicians come on the subway and start playing jingle bells on accordion and guitar... IT WAS AMAZING!!! The first fricken xmas song I heard this year that actually made me happy! They totally made my day

Seems that whenever I write something it's 3 months to get into the right mood and acquire some new techniques to try and about 3 hours to actually write something. I'm not very efficient :V

Is it sad that my ancient ... 3rd or 4th gen (I think) iPod Classic is waaaay faster than my fancy 7th gen (last one) iPod Classic, and also breaks less easily? I mean, my 7th has had more issues in 2 years than my 3rd/4th has had in 8+ years I think. The worst is that the 7th has the huge 160GB hard-drive ;3; the 3rd/4th has a 20GB one.

Anyone got any recommendations for an mp3 player (or something that plays mp3) that fits in my pocket, has a big capacity and is compatible with Windows 64bit?

music isnt about being proficient though, its more about being effective.
Id rather listen to music from an artist when he effectively makes music far and wide instead of a lot of songs from his efficient music making skills that are not quite as good as the ^^^^ effective music.

Nah, I'd buy a new iPod Classic 7th gen in an eyeblink. Purely because 160GB. No, it's Apple themselves who stopped producing the iPod Classic altogether. I even read somewhere that their parts (in particular, guess what, that 160GB hard drive), Apple doesn't have access to anymore.
