Official Discussion Thread (Ghost Edit)

Sports, politics, movies, videogames, questionable hobbies, photos from your family vacation, etc. Talk about stuff that isn't ponies or music. But do try to stay on topic and respectful of alternate opinions.

Hey, anyone remember wanting to get a mine craft server for mlr? If anyone is interested, I'll probably just get one. The size depends on how many people are interested. (As in an 8 person lobby or a 64. Etc.)
Just hit me up. If I get enough interested people, I'll make a thread about it.

Not sure how many people here play minecraft, considering how many people regularly visit the forum I'd say you won't need an especially big server.

Also, I got a spot as an assistant production engineer at an arts festival starting this year (the even itself is next year though). Pretty happy about that :D

And remember when I said that I had a server... and some of you joined... well I still have that server... Depends on whether you want CMP or SMP

I don't know what CMP and SMP are, but it'd be cool to go on an MLR server. I wouldn't do much else than pixel-art on it though :P

EDIT - if the server would be Craftbukkit, and you need help with some technical aspects, well I happen to have a lot of experience with it so you could ask me :3

Survival is the best mode!
Anyway, if you have one or those servers, why not post the IP?

I have a fair bit of experience running a small creative server as I did for a couple years, but I'd absolutely be up for some proper SMP. You can count me in, I think, unless there's going to be encouraged griefing and raiding and shit. That's not really my thing.
Notebook Memories, the debut album from yours truly, is currently up on my bandcamp for free. Any feedback, encouragement, hate mail, etc. is highly appreciated! Even just listening is pretty cool of you tbh.

Now that I know what SMP and CMP are ...
Uhm... Why not install MultiVerse and have both survival and creative?

I would love to be on a well-run survival Minecraft server, as long as there's griefer protection and whatnot. A friend of mine used to run an entirely vanilla survival server that was really fun, but I haven't found another good one since he shut it down.

Wait. Why isn't it on? Is it a server from your house or something or one that you rent? Is it possible that you can just keep it on all the time?

My thought is that we should have a server that is on full time and has a few good moderaters (like me and whoever else) who makes sure that we don't grief and just be general (insert insult)s to each other. And that the server is easy to get onto and maybe has a password protection to start playing. So random people won't join, but all us MLR users will know it.

Also it's set up that new users can't do anything until the mods or admins approve them.

Have you by any chance put Orebfuscator in the plugins folder? It's an x-ray prevention plugin, if you want it.

And don't forget WorldGuard for protection and logs on breaking/placing specific kinds or areas of blocks.
I could go on and on and on though :P

Hey but Abby, why don't you start a thread in the games section? :3
Since it's your server and all.

I actually played mine craft last night and was reminded how amazing world edit is.

Also, there was this thing we used where if I hit a block of dirt, all blocks of dirt around it for 5 blocks out would also be destroyed. Like a super mining tool or something. It was nice
