If anything of that sort would happen I'd be most definitely Down with that!

Or we could also start our very own PONY Metal album with material based on MLP. But the Former Idea Conchetupony thought of is also very AWESOME and EPIC!!! Either way both albums would be a great way to introduce much more Rock and Metal to this Great Music Community(That doesn't have many musicians covering those Genres). What do you guys think?

i'm a skilled metal drummer, 5 years of playing (recently mastered the double kick :D) but just know that when I record stuff, I kinda cheat. I use an electric MIDI drum kit and record the beats into my program through a sample based plugin. I do have a real drum kit though.
Yes I have 2 drum kits.
don't judge me.
i also have 10 electric guitars.
and an acoustic.

I really like this idea! An original pony metal album would be such an awesome thing to work on!

I'm thinking though, if we did somethin like this, would we each make and record tracks individually or would we do like a mass collab?

I think rather both ways. Like a MASS collab at the intro track then the rest of the record is individual until the very last EPIC Song. which yes, it should be an Epic collab of different Guitarists,Vocalists,Bassists, and drummers going all out in Solos and Harmonies! Now, that would be a testament album for this community! What do you guys think? Something like that should most definitely be done! :)

cause im cool either way

Aha. Deffinately more leaning towards metallica/megadeth kinda metal. :3 I'd love to try nu-metal but drop tuning beyond D on my electric is a bitch haha

And when it comes to bass it's pretty similar. I'm more hard rock/heavy metal orientated.

the farthest i go is drop D, unless im doing korn, my locking tremelo wont let me do much more XD

but im down for anything, id love to do a cover of nothing else matters or sanatarium \m/

Now this sounds like an awesome plan. I got some tabbed metal ideas lying around but I never really thought of making them pony themed. Guess it's worth a try, though, I'll finish them up and I'll upload them in .gp5 and .mid someday.

I think writing our songs (rough layouts of them at least) in tab and then recording everything - drums first, then guitars, bass, vocals and whatever else - would work fine.

Haha same for me. Standard tuning and no tremolo is the way I roll :3 Sanitarium's a good tune.
oops I dropped the bass

will you pick it up for me

I do believe that we fans(and "Rockers") can seriously do this as an album! The only thing is for me personally, I can't start up/ Post the album on here because I don't really know how to do it properly. Would anyone be up to starting it up on here because I most definitely think we should do it as soon as possible(recording-wise because summer's end is around the corner now). Let me know what you guys think. Thanks */)

Hmm... I'm not gonna be able to do any outside recording or anything for a while because it's my final year of school with the HSC and all...

But we all definitely have it in us to do this :3

Drop D is best pony tuning.

Damn I missed out on a lot, trying to catch up... I aim my play style towards Eric Calderone or 331Erock.. I've got lots of sweep picking, string skipping arppegios etc. under my belt. <3 Sweep picking so much.. I normally play standard tuning on both my 6 and 7. I'll go as far as drop B on my 6, and drop A on my 7 in certain cases.

.....we can do a cover of korn D: i can make my bass sound like a 5 string with this whammy detuned pedal i got! so if you wanna cover korn i got you, plus i can do some stuff with my guitar too since i got a tremelo pedal. (they like tremelo pedals in korn)

That guy is ridiculous.
I can't say I really do much of the string skipping thing, but sweep picking is always fun.

Can't say I've ever tried to cover/play Korn, when I did cover music it was normally stuff from August Burns Red, Parkway Drive, As Blood Runs Black etc.
