Yup, well, I have a good $8/hr job that earns me close to $2000 every three months or $8000 per year, so in two years I'll have 16,000, after, of course, I buy my car and finish paying off my german exchange program that I still need to finish paying for. But once I sell everything I won't be taking with me and that my family won't need like my computer, studio equipment and car, I'll have pretty much that amount of money left over. But we should start to get back on topic now, lol

thoughts?
Alright, that's pretty good. Only problems that I have with it are: The motherboard it has listed is a waaay overpriced one, you can get a cheaper and better motherboard for less, the harddrive is good, but there's another one that is a bit better quality for a bit less, the optical drive is waaaaaaaaaay useless unless you plan on writing blu-rays or cds, and with todays internet and stuff, there's a pretty good chance you won't even use a disk unless it's to watch a movie, and there's a stock cooler. Not to mention it doesn't come with an OS or a monitor. So here, I made you a build with new options for some parts:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($279.99 @ Microcenter)
CPU Cooler: Zalman CNPS9500 AT Ball Bearing CPU Cooler ($36.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: MSI Z87-G45 Gaming ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($146.85 @ SuperBiiz)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-2133 Memory ($72.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($66.61 @ Outlet PC)
Video Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB Video Card ($199.99 @ Newegg)
Case: NZXT Source 210 Elite (White) ATX Mid Tower Case ($41.73 @ Amazon)
Case Fan: Cooler Master SickleFlow 69.7 CFM 120mm Fan ($6.49 @ NCIX US)
Power Supply: Rosewill Capstone 550W 80 PLUS Gold Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply ($71.99 @ Amazon)
Optical Drive: Lite-On iHAS124-04 DVD/CD Writer ($14.99 @ Newegg)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 (OEM) (64-bit) ($89.98 @ Outlet PC)
Total: $1043.60
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)
(Generated by PCPartPicker 2013-07-02 20:29 EDT-0400)

This one has an operating system, an aftermarket CPU heatsink and a better videocard for gaming :3 The case I've selected is a case that's well-known for being exceptional, and will prove you well. I've also included an extra 120mm fan that would be placed on the side fan slot. Another fan can go a long ways, even if it doesn't seem like it. Buy the fan model with the blue LED, it'll look better :) The best part about the modifications I've made? It only costs ~$5 more than the parts in the complete build you've linked, and that one has a $78 discount.

Also, if you need a computer monitor, I'd strongly recommend you get this one. If not, then you're set with the computer build I've recommended for you.

i'd rather buy it from one place so it comes in all at once and yes i'd like a blue ray drive cause my montior is the biggest screen in my house so id be watching blue rays on it i also plan on getting a different cpu cooler cause the 3rd and 4th gen i7's are notorious for over heating
the website you sugested for getting the cpu is in store pick up only so id have to go with another website anyways
as for an os i already own multiple copies of windows 7 and xp (people need to stop gifting me os's lol)
i also chose nvidia for physx plus ive always liked nvidia better
also i always get shafted by amazon so amazon is a big no no for me

Very well. I've made adjustments as suggested:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($349.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: MSI Z87-G45 Gaming ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($149.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-2133 Memory ($72.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($69.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: PNY GeForce GTX 660 Ti 2GB Video Card ($219.99 @ Newegg)
Case: NZXT Source 210 Elite (White) ATX Mid Tower Case ($54.98 @ Newegg)
Case Fan: Cooler Master SickleFlow 69.7 CFM 120mm Fan ($10.99 @ Newegg)
Power Supply: Rosewill Capstone 550W 80 PLUS Gold Certified ATX12V / EPS12V Power Supply ($89.99 @ Newegg)
Optical Drive: LG GH24NS95 DVD/CD Writer ($17.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $1050.90
(Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available.)
(Generated by PCPartPicker 2013-07-03 09:39 EDT-0400)

All parts are now purchasable through Newegg, there's still a better videocard, the optical drive will read Blu-Ray, DVD and CD, as could the last one. the only thing it won't do is write Blu-Ray. It's also now $50 cheaper than the preselected parts build. Now you'll have more money for a better cooler than you originally have planned, if you wish.

Oooh, sounds awesome, lucky you. I want a next-gen graphics card, but for now I'm with my 7850. Since you're getting an even more powerful videocard, I'd recommend that you get an upgrade in power supply as well. Wouldn't want to have not enough energy to power the machine. this one will work just fine, and is just $10 more.

Mmm... Lemme see. It's pretty average.

Dell Inspiron 560 from 2010ish:
Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5400 @ 2.7 GHz
4 GB RAM (dunno if it's DDR3 or not honestly)
nVidia GeForce GT 440
300 GB internal hard drive + 2 TB internal drive + 1.5 TB external drive
Windows 7 Home Premium (Service Pack 1)
21.5" monitor with DVI to HDMI cable I think

No idea what the motherboard or anything else is, really. Probably gonna build a new computer in the next few months though, this one is getting a little outdated. (it was waaayyy overpriced, too)
Producing mediocre drum and bass since 2012.

I'm saving up for a better laptop than the piece of shit I have now. Anybody got any recommendations for a decent laptop for gaming and music production, preferably under £700 (yeah I know I'm being needy but I want other opinions on what would be good before I break my bank :3)
Thanks in advance for any help :3

If there isn't a reason for wanting a laptop over a computer, you could build a much better gaming and music computer for that price.

I'm aware of that, it's just I prefer having the maneuverability.

EDIT:
After thinking about - sod it, I'll probably end up getting a PC anyways. My friends have sworn by them. I shall start looking it them properly when I get the time
