Now that I'm getting the hang of this it's pretty fun. Have added BMD to the wiki and a few other things (like EQD linking to EQDMusic), Trance as a genre (with more to be added soon), and Equestrian Hype Records. I may start adding some addiitonal sites and events if time warrants tomorrow. If I'm doing anything wrong lemme know (i need to add my thumbs when i get home).

ah crap somehow i cloned the formatting of the other albums, made mine following that formatting, and then the results were completely derped when i went to display. I reviewed and everything looks the same as on an album page that works.

I am at a loss and i think it has to be an easy tweak. Please let me know what i did wrong! :(

Can you make pages for other Artists if their page is nonexistent?

I suppose so, given that the original authors have already completed several demos of existing artists. But I'd avoid copying the Bronymusic articles before we go into disrepute. ;)

Yes, yes, yes, we encourage this! We can't get to every artist singlehandedly, but we can handle cleaning up when someone else is awesome enough to take initiative :3

Thanks for all of the interest! I'll be continuing to admin, but more and more we'll depend on it being self-policing, much like Wikipedia. Thanks all for your time, and I hope you continue to contribute!

Sorted! :) After rather obsessive debugging I found a single square bracket missing from the artist column for Track 7.

Ok. It's just that a good site like this can't run without healthy amounts of moderation.

Here's the coding from my album. You can copy what's existing from another profiel, adapt, and copy into the one you are creating for yourself.

Tracklist
{{Track listing
| headline =
| extra_column = Artist(s)
| total_length = 77:23
| all_writing =
| title1 = Tonight (Freewave's Live VIP Remix)
| extra1 = Aviators
| length1 = 5:56
| title2 = At The Gala (Freewave's Best Night Ever ReRub)
| extra2 = And The Rainfall
| length2 = 5:40
| title3 = Love Poison 3000 (Freewave's Big Beat Remix)
| extra3 = Psychedelic Brony
| length3 = 4:57
and repeat (title=track title, extra = artist, length = duration)

I was about an hour into making an SGAP profile. I had saved it on the site, some of the code was broken when it displayed the page, i had to shut down my browser as it hung from my work and now it's ....all gone. I can't fix something that isn't there. Searched up and down and it didn't save any of it. I'm just moritifed. :(

Fuck...

What's the timeout threshold after you login? I'm constantly having to relogin all the time.

[edit] Ok i have got a slightly less verbose version up there.

I saw the Makkon entry was changed rather significantly (a little less verbose but definitely cleaner and looking great). Was that done from scratch (someone was already working on it) or was it edited from mine? Just wanted to check as i don't want to put out entries that are drastically different from what the end results will be (ie requiring hack jobs). Going to assume it's better to have something added that will get edited rather than stop working on them.

That would be Colortwelve.
Code: Select all

Yeah, I tend to get kind of control-freakish when I find a new article in need of some TLC. It's definitely a help to have all of the information there at the outset, but in some cases I've found biographies that read like narratives of the discog section...

But as for the Makkon article, I believe I wiped everything but the discog section and redid it. As you said, Freewave, the issue I ran into was it being verbose, and my editor-brain has a point where it'll decide to just wipe the slate clean. But in cases where there's a lot more info to cover (i.e. the BMD article), I'll edit as I go, in those cases mostly just to make them read more easily.

Anyone got suggestions for spam? While its not affecting normal usage of the site because none of the articles are assigned to any given category, the Special:Recent Changes page is becoming infested and difficult to work with. Apparently there's a document of hundreds of thousand IP addresses that can be uploaded, but I have no idea how to interpret the instructions. Thanks for the support anyhow.
