Collab maybe?

This is my newly redone version of a track I posted, what, a day or two ago? Anyway, I like the progression a lot more now, but now it feels like it's missing something - namely, vocals. Now, I can't sing for shit, I have no mic, etc., but if anyone wants to do anything with this, here you go.

I noticed that no one commented on this and it shocked me a bit because I see lots of collabs with people wanting to do that, but no one did with this one.

The thing is, I think, that it's a very hard track to put vocals to.
I think maybe if you smoothed out some of the beat in the beginning and has a more fluid melody in the track, more people would offer themselves up to this.

If you'd like though, I'd be willing to try something for vocals.
What is the general sound and theme you want for this song?

Yeah, I probably should have mentioned that this track would be extremely subject to change if I ever actually got anything - I've always expected, if I produced for a vocal track to build the music around the voice, not the other way around. I listen to this and it all sounds like the layers behind something that isn't there.

To be honest, I'd never really thought of that one. The only serious songwriters I ever hear talking about their technique go on about 'interpreting the music' and stuff like that. But at any rate, I think that an attempt at putting a voice to this would ideally be just as dark as the music, a little hushed, and with that vague hint of urgency that probably only I can hear in it. That is, assuming that one could actually make it work.

This is one of my first actual tracks, and I feel like anyone who would work with it would know a hell of a lot more about what they're doing than I do.

But if you want to take a crack at it, be my guest.

When you were creating the track, did it have a story?

Not that I can recall. I'm still at that phase where I just fire off a lot of content without really thinking about it, so nothing really has a story at this point. Unless you consider sitting in front of a computer a story.
